About LJD
Built to make rights accessible, enforceable, and real.
The League for Justice and Development mobilizes the power of law and accountability to protect people, communities, and the planet from injustice, exploitation, and systemic abuse.
Our Story
LJD was founded in response to growing global injustice, inequality, impunity, and systemic human rights violations affecting vulnerable and marginalized communities worldwide. It was built on years of legal practice, human rights advocacy, and field experience working with migrants, refugees, displaced populations, and communities affected by conflict, corruption, environmental harm, and economic exploitation.
The challenges LJD seeks to address span many fronts: lack of access to legal representation, persistent impunity for rights violations, weak governance structures, and the disproportionate impact of climate and economic harm on vulnerable communities.
Since its founding, LJD has grown from a grassroots effort into an international organization with a network of legal professionals, community partners, and institutional allies working across multiple countries to protect human rights and make justice real.
